He has been in private practice in Gainesville, Florida since 1999 and has considerable experience in many aspects of the veterinary field.
Dr. Greene has the distinction of being the only private practitioner in the greater
The Canine & Feline Specialist status that Dr. Greene has achieved indicates that he demonstrates exceptional knowledge, skill, competency, and communication in the care of the total patient, thus providing a level of clinical practice that is recognized as superior to the norm. This specialization requires an extensive knowledge of the canine and feline species, mastery of up-to-date clinical medicine and surgical techniques, as well as the completion of additional studies and a rigorous certification exam that covers all aspects of canine and feline medicine and surgery.
This certification process can not only take up to three years to complete, but also requires him to recertify every ten years thereafter. This requirement assures that he stays current on the latest information regarding the medical and surgical options available to dogs and cats, thus maintaining the highest level of veterinary care. In addition, this allows him to develop practical and individualized treatment plans for his patients that deliver some of the most recent advances in the veterinary field, while continuing to provide the best of the more time-tested traditional treatment options.
Dr. Greene’s areas of interest include orthopedics, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, and behavior. Although not an exotic animal specialist, Dr. Greene also has a strong interest in treating other small mammal pets, such as rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, and rodents.
Dr. Greene is an active member of Creekside Community Church where he serves as a deacon and plays bass guitar on the worship music team. In addition, he and his wife are very involved with the Children's Ministry programs at their church and lead a weekly Bible study group in their home. In 2007, he and several members of the congregation traveled to a remote area of Haiti providing veterinary care to the animals and Christian missionary support to the local church and school.
He and his wife, Leslie, have been married for almost 20 years and have two children (and three dogs). His interests outside of work include gardening, basketball, playing bass guitar, and camping with his family.
